Welcome to VCL Venture Connection
VCL Venture Connection's principle activity is fund raising for Potential High Growth PHG companies, in the Small and Medium Enterprise SME sector.
VCL Venture Connection is a new concept in venture capital funding. We (i) identify PHG companies; (ii) prepare them to convince investors; and (iii) introduce them to the most appropriate Business Angel Networks and/or other investors, whose interest we will have canvassed and confirmed.
Where we judge that a business is not a PHG company, we try to recommend other sources of funding.
We prepare companies to convince investors, principally by helping them to produce a succinct and convincing information memorandum. We regard this as an essential first step, formalising companies' own plans and presenting them as a convincing business proposition. This initial process will often determine whether VCL Venture Connection can assist in raising funds.
During this process we try to identify prospective investors and we issue a preliminary one-page preview to assess their interest. We contact those investors who indicate an appetite for the investment, to select the best match between the company and investors.
In addition,
VCL Venture Connection provides a wide range of business advice for SMEs , ranging from general management advice or mentoring, to help with specific topics eg business strategy and development; exits; accounting and finance; grants; import and export; IT; personnel and training; marketing and sales; and technical accreditations including quality and Health & Safety.
In addition to VCL 's own resources, we have available the resources of over 4,000 accredited associates of the Institute for Independent Business in the UK and overseas. We can usually make a connection with someone who is well versed in any particular problem, specialism, venture, or industrial sector.
VCL Venture Connection is also commissioned by investors, from time to time, to seek investment propositions ad hoc and currently we have investors looking for businesses valued at c£150,000 to businesses worth £5m or more, either as going concerns or in need of recovery.
